Karl Ronsenfeld - shade lover?

I planted a Karl Rosenfeld Peony late last summer. Does anyone know if it's true that these are okay in partial shade? That's what the tag says, but i'm skeptical...

The majority of my peonies are in partial shade and they do fine.

MY KR's are in part-shade and have bloomed beautifully, but not yet this Spring. I love this cultivar. It's a show stopper!
