Angel Cheeks in Bloom

Here's a gallery of my peony pics. The 1st 2 pics that are new are my Angel Cheeks peony blooming. I was out of town this weekend, so I missed the peak bloom and it must have rained fairly hard while I was away...

The White Peony I think is Festiva Maxima. Wally World labeled it as Edulis Superba, so I guess I have to add that back to my wish list.

Here is a link that might be useful: Angel Cheeks Bloom Pic

Lovely. Thanks for posting pictures. I really like Angel Cheeks. Is it fragrant?

I think it is supposed to be fragrant. Mine, however, is only mildly fragrant...whether that's due to my sniffer or recent rain or immaturity of my peony...I do not know. I think I have another bud that will open up this weekend, so I'll have to check it out.

My Sorbet is fragrant, although it's not fragrant to the point that you will necessarily pick up on it if you're walking by. Surprisingly to me, my Lollipop Lies peony was very fragrant, quite pleasant at that. I didn't think I would be that fond of it, but I am now.

berrytea4me - Just to let you know, the 2nd bud of mine that bloomed does not have that much pink in it. It's planted in full sun, so it seems to have faded the bloom. With this being the 1st year I've had it, I don't know how it will perform next year...possibly the pink will be more prominent? It's hard to say based off of this year's blooms, which are fairly small in comparison to what I believe they will be with a mature plant.

There is very little foliage on my plant this 1st spring, so I hope the leaves continue to get bigger and beef up the energy for next year's growth.
