Transplanted Peonies

femmefeline1

I should have done the research first but I was so gung ho, that I just went ahead and did it. Two weeks ago, I transplanted some peonies from the front yard that are overcrowded and in a shady area to the back yard in a newly tilled sunny area. They are doing ok, but leaves are droopy and wilty. I figured that they will need til next year or even the year after to bloom. Question is, should I leave the shoots and leaves or should I cut them back to the stems?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks
