How to find out which peonies don't fade so much?

I only had a white peony (Duchess de Nemours) until last year. I was surprised the paler pink-colored ones I got, such as Golly and Raspberry Sundae, faded quite rapidly to pure cream-white. The Bowl of Beauties quickly faded from hot pink & yellow to very pale pink & cream. The Dr. Alex Flemings (supposed to be Bowl of Beauty - first time I've gotten mislabled peonies from Sam's Club!) have faded to Mon. Jules Elie color. Only my Gen. Macmahons and Dancing Butterflies have stayed pretty much the same color. Do the majority of colored peonies fade rapidly like this, and is there any way to find out before purchase? They're all in full sun, which I suppose may be a factor.
I'm SO glad I didn't get any more whites or paler pinks, because after a few days I have plenty!

A lot of peonies do fade after some time. If you want an excellent dark pink one that remains dark pink, you should try 'Princess Margaret'. I also have 'Dr. Alexander Fleming', but it doesn't fade towards pale pink here. If you would grow your peonies where they don't receive sun during the heat of the day, they probably would retain their darker colors longer I think.

Princess Margaret is beautiful! Thanks for the suggestion. Sue
