Peonies Always White

This might be a silly question....and one I've not come across. But I have 4 peonies.....2 are green leafed and the other 2 are reddish leafed. The problem is all four bloom in shades of white. My soil is sandy....but have worked in a good bit of dirt. But the deeper you go, the sandier it gets. Is this why my blooms are white?? I can't remember the colors I've bought...it was a couple of years ago. I do remember I thought I bought a "peachy colored" one. And I thought one other was supposed to be bright pink. Any thoughts on this???? And any way to increase the color????

I too have transplanted in the spring 2 of my peonies. The buds have died on one. I pinched off the dead buds and hope it comes back next year. Which I'm sure it will. The leaves are looking fine.
