Sudden Peony droop

christripp

I have 3 older Peonies (maybe 7 years now, a little more?) and they have always been healthy/beautiful flowers without any attention really. One plant is 3.5' and the other 2 are at 4' .
It was no exception this year up until this morning. Went out around 6:30 am and all was well. Went out again around 11am and one of the plants has all it's bud stems drooping (bud and about 5" of top stem) The rest of the stem looks fine, strong.
It has rained a lot here, rained yesterday, stopped late afternoon, today started out warm and sunny. They are all planted in the same area, about 5' apart from each other.
What could cause something so drastic? Other wise, the leaves and plant look healthy, no spots, very thick and bushy as usual.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Chris
