Alexander Woollcott is a beautiful red semi-double from A.P Saunder,make sure you stick to the hybirds because the lactifloria peonies have no red pigment just lavender which some say is red.

I've had a lot of luck with tubers from Swan Island Dahlias (www.dahlias.com) - suggestions for beautiful RED peonies from them include: Envy (ID), Spartacus (ID), American Beauty (ID), Smarty Pants (FD) and Skywalker (FD).

I see that Diana Parks is supposed to be a double. No way is what I have a double. looks more like a red single but I didn't see any yellow or anything else in the center to help identify. Pembroke

check out Carsten Burkhardt's webproject paeonia has great pics of what each variety looks like when mature.Remeber that young plants may take a few years to develop flowers that are double or semi-double and the colors may get better when the plant matures.

My Diana is blooming now and is definately double. And very red.
