| I read that this varity will survive in the shade. Has anyone had any experience with it and if so what is a good source to buy from. Plant delight Nursery has one in their catalog, but it is $50.00. Too much.

| How much and what kind of shade are you talking about? Diann |

| If you are talking P. obovata, Song Sparrow have it for less. It does bloom in part shade, I'd say 3-4 hours of uninterrupted sun. Another part-shade lover you may want to check on is P. woodwardii. |
Here is a link that might be useful: P. obovata

| Another shade tolerant, woodland peony would be Paeonia japonica. I am not sure that the others mentioned are actually woodland peonies. |
