And of course, thank you so much for the answer. I'm so happy to hear that I will have them next year. One more question, since they are so gnarled and curled (they are about 2 feet high) I would like to cut them to about 5-7 inches above the ground. Should I pare them down or leave them. I'm am worried if I shorten them now they won't bloom next year.

The damaged foliage would be just as well removed, but I would not go further than that, because it is still early in the season and what ever growth they recover would feed the roots, and hopefully mitigate some of the herbicide translocated into the roots. Al
