You should see buds pretty early on, they form as the shrub is leafing out. Are your leaves fully open? If so, look for small buds. I'm seeing them on my Singing in the Rain, Strawberry Blonde and Berry Garcia but my Bartzella is barely growing yet, maybe it's a later bloomer? Anyone out there with Bartzella blooming now? If so, what zone? I just planted mine last fall so might not get anything other than a few stems and leaves this spring but I was hoping!

I bought my Cora Louise from Lowes last spring. This year the bush is extremely healthy with lots of leaves but no buds. I saw like two small buds on them but they never make it. Did you buy your Bartzella from Lowes?
