Do you know the place you planted your peony has relatively good drainage, or does the water from the spring rain stand in puddles and take days to go away? excellent drainage. the area was worked with lots of compost last spring when I planted them. could the rain have washed nutrients away ? what would you suggest I add to green them up.

In over 20 years growing peony in three different gardens I have never fertilized them only added finished compost, and never had chlorosis or yellow leaves. If you think low nitrogen is your problem I would try using a soluble fertilizer about 18-6-12 mixed according to directions and spray the whole plant and the soil, about once a week or 10 days, and you should see an improvement within a month.
