| My peonies have bloomed, and they were spectacular. They amaze me every year!
They are in borders which is where I have the most sun in my yard. The rest of my yard is mostly shady, much to my chagrin. I would love to use the space being taken up by the peony foliage to plant perennials/annuals. But I don't want to hurt the peonies. If I cut them back before fall, will it hurt them? Thanks, and to all of you just enjoying your blooms now, enjoy! |

| Your peony grows large tubers storing the energy provided by the foliage. Removing the foliage will cut off this supply and reduce the vitality of the plant, so I would not recommend doing it. Al |
