(I think) I found peonies in my yard

I moved to south carolina last July and am still finding surprises on my property. Today my husband noticed that one of the bushes on the side of our house was producing very large pink flowers (picture attached). Are these peonies? Are peonies a bulb? I don't remember what the plant looked like before blooming. If it was just a bush I very likely overlooked it. I am very new to gardening and would love to know what they are and how to care for them. Any and all advice is appreciated!

The whole plant. It rained very hard last night which is why the flower may be drooping.

That definitely is a peony plant and flower. It is very pretty, looks like a blush pink color. Don't know for sure but it looks somewhat like Shirley Temple.

Peonies need sun and water when it gets dry, other then that mine went 15 years without anything other then mowed in the fall and water when it did not rain for long periods.
We moved and they came with us last year in the summer.
