HELP!!! Peonies dying?!??!!!

flowergirl110

My pink peonies have always been gorgeous - and robust. BUT this year, they did not grow tall (most shoots are only between 5 and 10 inches tall) and about 4 inches from the ground, the stems look black and collapsed. I have 3 peony bushes, all in the same garden, all with the same problem.

PLEASE HELP ME!

Do you know what could be happening to them?

IS THERE A CURE??!!???

Thanks for your help

It could be botrytis. It can settle in the soil and infect the plant, giving symptoms similar to what you describe. There are products that can treat it but you will also need to remove and discard any infected buds, stems, and foliage in the trash so it doesn't infect the other plants.

I've included a link about the disease.

Here is a link that might be useful: Botrytis blight
