| I have several peony bushes that were prolific bloomers last year. This year I was amazed at how tall the stems got (we had lots of spring rain) and how HUGE the buds were. Everything performed as expected with the exception of Sarah Bernhardt. The buds fully developed, however the edges turned brown, balled and never opened. In all the years I've grown peonies this has never happened. I have two and they are planted in different locations. Like I mentioned Shirley Temple, Karl Rosenfeld and Festima Maxima (in the same bed as Sarah) all did great. Any ideas what happened to Sarah? Thanks in advance. |
