| Sorry I have taken so long to post.
The meeting had less blooms shown than on previous years because of the weather that everyone has been having. Klehms did not attend this year but both Adelmans and Hollingworth were there. A grower from Chillicothe, OH, Mike Miller had several blooms that were in a similar size catagory as Adelmans. In other words steroids were in their sap. Joking of course blooms were very large.

White Frost white double stong stems
Florence Bond same as above but flower looser
Prairie Prince a short red single very compact plant. More for the compactness than the flower.
Dutch Dwarf a bluish leafed dwarf. Hard to keep alive after dividing. Must replant immediately
There were parallel beds of four row barley in one part of the garden. Excellent even planting.
Along with the show was three lectures, division, flower arranging, and nomenclature. I only sat in on part of the last one.
I was disappointed that Bill Seidel or Theresa Griesbach did not bring any of their blooms to the show. I was hopeing for some with orange. Thresa is helping Bill with hybridizing.
Next years show is schedualed to be in Wisconsin unless some thing happens. |
