Am I a type of Peony? Anyone recognize me?

I am not sure what this little guy is. I posted under plant ID and one person thought it was a peony but it is completely different from the plant I know is a peony. When it started out it was a deep red until it opened. It is only about 5 to 6 inches tall after about 2 months of growing, where my known peony is 2 to 3 feet tall.

Congratulations you are a parent. This is a seedling peony. Now you have to wait a couple of years to find out what your baby looks like in bloom.

Wow. Thank you! Amazing. Now I just have to find the culprit responsible for knocking up my garden lol. Just kidding. Kind of. I really honestly do not know how that got there! The other peony is on the other side of the house. This little guy just popped up this year. I have never planted anything. My mother in law did but she passed away 5 years ago. Last year in October that section was completely sprayed with weed killer.

I think the root was in the ground but survived the weed killer. Since your mother in law is not talking to you, you will just have to wait a couple of years, but I think it will be common peony and worth saving. Al
