No that is not true, they transplant very well. Unless you have no choice, I would wait until fall and cool weather before moving it. You can start preparing the spot its going to now by digging in some compost preferable about a 4 foot square area. When you do dig it, try for as big a root ball as you can handle. Unless you want to reduce the size of the tree, I would not prune any more than usual. Al
