Use this time to plan where you want them. Peonies planted in the right place can stay there for many years. Dig down 2 feet and add compost and work it in well. The roots of peonies do not allow digging around them much and they get very large, something like taro or elephant ears. Be careful when you plant to keep the crowns within the top 2 inches of the surface maybe even a little higher depending on your winter temperatures. Al
