Preserving life of cut peonies

Outside of cutting your peonies at the point of a soft ball (before opening), changing water daily, cutting them in morning or late evening, flower preserving food and/or placing them in cold water and cool room, does anyone have a full-proof method of making your blooms last more than 5-7 days in a vase? Usually after maybe the 4th day they start to drop petals. Can anyone suggest a water hydration additive or solution to use?
