relocating peonies

I located 2 double pink peony bushes growing along our property line under some trees. I would really like to move them into my flower garden. When is the best time to do this? They are in flower right now. They are rather long and leggy since they don't get too much sun where they are. If I replant them, will they wilt from "sun shock"? I was thinking of just marking them and digging them up in the fall. Any suggestions?

Wait until after the first frost then move. Divide when you move. Leave on foliage until then.

Thanks for the info. I thought I should wait for fall but I will leave it till first frost. I've marked where they are so I can find them later. We've been here 6 years and I've never seen them before. Maybe I just wasn't looking in that area at bloom time.
