My Peony is Dying - Before and After Pics?

I had to divide this to share. I wound up with five sections. I kept three. One died the first year. This is the second year and the remaining two were doing fine. I just checked out back and OH NO! One is looking horrible.

It looks like you planted two very close together and one died. If that is the case, I would dig up the dead one, and you should be able to see why it died. They were two close together anyway. It could be a gopher or a mole has caused the roots to be free of the soil. Al

Hi Al, That was just one section I had divided from the mother plant. It seems maybe a new shoot has started? At any rate, if it ever stops raining, I plan on digging it up to see what's happening. I will try moving it while I am at it. Thanks so much for your help.
