Peony search

I had a beautiful deep pink peony I purchased from Monticello some years ago and in the craziness of moving, didn't exclude it from the contract and left it at our last house. I would love to know the name, but have had no luck with Monticello. Where do I start looking for peonies to choose from. I am wanting a deep pink and don't know if all peonies do well in zone 5b. I know I need to do research, just wanted to know where to start.

Try Heartland Peony Society site; from their links you can go to Carsten Burkhardt's Web Project Paeonia which lists about every peony in world.

daveinohio: thanks for the info. I've gone on the site and looks like a good start. After looking thru their gallery, am thinking my peony was probably an heirloom. so am doing more looking in that area. thanks again!
