What a summer! My four young tree peonies are doing great; I bought two umbrellas from Cricket Hill and used them to shade the plants from the afternoon sun. They are growing nicely, and I plan to mulch them again in the fall, and maybe look for some tall wicker baskets to put over each of them to shelter the young stems for the winter snow.

I have also created another new garden bed for two more tree peonies that I just ordered today from golden Port International. They should be here in october and I can plant them then One is called Zi Die Ying Feng (purple butterfly in the wind) and the other is Tai Ping Lian (peace lotus). Both are known as Poenia Rockii and they should grow to about 7 feet all in a few decades!. In any case, I hope everyone is well on this forum. Happy fall gardening!
