I bought a peony root and planted it in my garden. I have never planted a peony from just a root before. I had someone tell me to plant it at least 6 weeks before the cold weather sets in so I got it planted the end of July. I forgot where it was and was transplanting some other flowers in my garden and came across the root and it just looked like a soggy piece of bark. Is it a gonner? I did put it back in the ground...
