Can I cut this peony down now?

My 'Abalone Pearl' normally has beautiful foliage all season, but botrytis arrived very early in the garden this year and AP has not a single unblighted leaf. It's so unsightly that I've been wanting to cut it down for weeks. Can I cut it now?
