Peony question

Peony foliage often looks poor over the summer. Since peonies are tuberous, can the foliage be mowed down after blooming? Or will this kill the plant?

RE: Peony question

You can go ahead and remove the foliage now. Since the leaves help the plant store nutrients for next years blooms it is better to wait until the end of summer to remove the foliage on herbaceous.

Never cut down tree peonies each year.
