Need Help! with Singed Peony

Help, my peony is fried!

I just got a potted Kopper Kettle peony - about 6in tall w/ 4 large adult leaves. I spent a few days acclimating it outside in a shady area that gets western lisht, & then planted it out front in southern exposure.

In 2 days, the leaves got almost totally singed by the sun. I've moved it back to a south/west area that is shaded by some other taller plants for now, but need advice on what to do.

Would it be safe to keep it there for the winter?

Should I cut back the dried parts of the leaves (which is most of every leaf) or leave them on?

Should I just put it back into a larger pot & bring it inside until spring so that it's not shocked by anything else in its weakened state?

Any other advice on how to salvage this little guy?

It's my second attempt at a peony in my new garden & I was really hoping to make this one work, since I *love* peonies.

Thanks in advance to all!

Grace
