Peonies in a container

| This past summer, I bought a peony plant (always wanted one), and transferred it in a bigger container. It bloomed once during the summer and started to die back, so I left it alone. Before the overnight frost hit us (I'm in zone 4), I brought it into the house, and it seems fine. I had cut it back and I noticed some little reddish sprouts at the bottom but hasn't done much since. Should I just leave it alone and will it be okay inside the house for the winter months? |

| Peonies prefer a cool/cold winter. If you intend it to remain a container plant I would keep it in an unheated area of your house for the winter. Keep the soil moist, not wet and put it back outside when the worst of winter is over. Al |
