Carsten Burkhart is to give a lecture at Swarthmore College near Philadelphia on February 24, 2008. He is the person behind my main source of pictures and information on the who what and where of peonies, I have never met him in person and am looking forward to seeing him. Please see the Mid Atlantic Peony Society (MAPS) website for more details.

He will also be giving a lecture for the Pacific Northwest Peony Society the first Saturday of March but I do not have any details at this time.

RE: Carsten Burkhart lecture

I enjoyed the Philadelphia talk very much and came home with a couple of packets of seeds. Nice pictures of areas peonies originate from. I did understand that because of the size limits of the room several people were turned away. If you are one of these contact MAPS. The lecture was filmed and depending on the final editing a copy may be available.
