Who Likes Epazote?

Try it if you haven't had it before. Easy to grow. Great in salsas and beans. Good for you too, as it's a wormicide. Always eat some after sushi...

    It also is a carminative (prevents gas). If you cook beans, put in some epazote.

    Ditto! and it re-seeds itself. One does have to acquire a taste for it, though. In chili most of the other flavors mask it.

    I put 2-3 sprigs In my bean pot, and I can certainly taste it. Use it instead of cilantro in a lot of salsas...

    It sounds like more medicinal than culinary. There are other herbs that expel gas and are tastier and aromatic, like cilantro, mint, basil, thyme....
    It is is described as being also acidic. I don't like sour herbs. But if you like it, that is all that matters. I love the taste and smell of cilantro.

    Don't eat epazote if you don't like it.

    It is a much-used herb in :Latin America and everyone uses it.
