have you tried soaking them in some 1/2 strength tea first? or some diluted h2o2?

yeah sometimes you just get a bad batch.

Ya I soaked in diluted peroxide with 2/3 did paper towel/ ziplock and direct sow. 3rd I didn't soak but put in Tupperware on paper towel. Had heat pad with all 3 and germ on many if not all other seeds in those 3 methods.
Prob just a bad batch.
Hopefully the other baggy of seeds I have are good. If not, I have some Aji pineapple and mango that are growing.

I had 3 pop up so far. They have taken longer than some other seeds, but not everything pops up at the same time. The seeds are good though.

I still have some other seeds I planted 2 weeks ago and just now they pop there little heads out. There are also some other batches that have yet to come up and I will probally replace those 1 more time before declaring those as failures.

Mine took awhile to come up but they finally made it.

I have had 100% germination from the ones I got in the swap. I am using coir for medium, and a mini green house. I am also using a heat mat, with a thermostat. Germination time has been all over the place. Most sprouted within the first week. A couple more at 10 days. The last few sprouted by about 12 to 14 days.

Some take longer than others. I did not soak any of them at all. I just put them in the dampened coir. I did open the dome once a day to check for sprouts.

I used the starter cells. I cut them down into 4 packs. If one sprouted I cut that cell off, and put the others back on the mat under the dome.

The first batch of Reapers I started seemed to take forever. Now all but one have sprouted. I soaked the next batch of reaper seeds for two days. (I had to put off the sowing them part due to other priorities.) Most of those sprouted within 8 days. The next batch I have one that has sprouted in 6 days.

I don't think variety is a factor. Seeds and germinating condition are the factors.
