Pepper that looks like a rose

Posted by gardensquare NC zone 7 (My Page) on

I am looking for a pepper that looks like a rose for a elderly friend of mine. Thats all I know about it. I found a picture when googling, but there is no name no way to id it. Anyone know what it is? She called it a "rosette pepper" and I googled that and nothing appropriate came up. I am hoping to find seeds to buy. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks for reading!

Uba Tuba pepper

Click on no it's not a flower. Hope this is what she was looking for. Some may have seeds. I don't have any of these sorry.

Here is a link that might be useful: Uba Tuba

My first thought is in line with habjolokia and nc-cr.

If it is the one she's referencing, my notes (which I think are from Wikipedia) indicate this variety has many names: Christmas Bell, Uba Tuba, Balloon, Pimenta Cambuci, Campane, Cambuci, Nepalese bell, Aji Flor, Orchid, Bishops Crown and Bishops Hat to name a few. Unusual pod shaped variety believed to have been transferred from South America to Europe by the Portuguese in the 18th century.
