With plants that people are told to NOT over-water, there's a real chance of giving so little water that much of the soil ball is absolutely dry and there's a small wet channel from the top down to the pot drain hole.

Take this puppy outside and spray it to death with your hose. The shower will do but don't be wimpy about it. Spray the undersides of those leaves with the oil, not the tops.

Then soak it thoroughly in the tub until the soil is completely absolutely totally soaked through and through. Not just merely soaked but really most sincerely soaked. Don't do this again, but do it well once. Let it drain and reset it to your pot spot.

This is a house plant remedy, not a chinense remedy. You have either just saved your plant or killed it. Being a Combat Houseplant Potter, I stand by it, but wait for others to answer.

Well, it is 10 degrees here in Minnesota, so spraying outside is not an option.

I'll water it thouroughly this evening and then wait another week. Depending on what happens, I may or may not lug it to the shower.

I probably have at least 3 months before it can go outside again...so if it becomes more work than it is worth, it may just get chopped.

I think probably it is due to dry indoor air. If your heating system does not have a humidification feature, then relative humidity can be very low. Watering more in this case is not going to help. The leaves start drying from the tip and then aborted. JMO
