Have you tried soaking them in saltpeter? I know a lot of people swear by it, I've used it, don't know if it helps or not. If you ever get any plants to germinate I'd love to swap seeds. ;-)

ps, sounds like my experience with those stupid Georgia Flames. I have gotten one to germinate out of about 40 seeds, and they were from different sources. Also having issues with my pepperoncinis, Padrons, and Italicos... very frustrating.

Have not done the saltpeter nor any other type of soaking. Sounds like I am in the same situation with these galapagos seeds and indeed frustrating. I hope at least one sprouts. If it does I will gladly send you seeds. That's for sharing, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who has had trouble year after year with only specific varieties, while other varieties sprout like weeds :)

I will keep them in moist starter mix and be patient. Maybe forget them for a while.
Depending on the seeds condition, temperature, moisture it might take longer. I have heard stories that some pepper seeds take almost 4 weeks to germinates.

Once I bought a package of chinese lantern seeds. On the package it said something like 4 - 6 weeks. I planted them. They did not come up. I gave up and planted something else in that garden spot. Few months later I noticed that something like pepper is growing there. Surprise ! They were Chinese lantern. Well, they belong to the same solannum(?) family.

This year it happened with the Manzano. They germinated about the time that I was giving upon them.

Thanks, I hope they do germinate, I will keep the soil moist and wait two months again and see if anything happens.

for seeds that are hard to germinate i use a saltpeter solution 1/2 tsp saltpeter 1 pint of water and soak them 6-12 hours seeds that usually take 60 days to germinate are sprouting in 10- 15 days Wild peppers usually take a while longer to germinate
