It's pretty much the same here. I have a few hold outs that I'm hoping will sprout. I planted about 16 varieties, and all except 4 have at least one sprout. There's not a whole lot to do except wait. This is the hardest part. You have to leave them alone and let them sprout. I think this is where a lot of people get into trouble. It's so hard to leave them alone and let them do their thing. It's like you feel like you should be doing SOMETHING, when in reality, the best thing you can do is leave them alone.

I just got my first sprout from my early super hot planting. It was also a Butch T. Only six days since planting. i hope the rest start popping in the next couple days.

Congratulations Bruce! What the heck are you going to do with a Butch T? I didn't think you would eat anything over habanero heat. :)

I don't eat them. But I enjoy growing the super hots anyway just for fun. I can usually find a couple suckers who think they are billy badass and that makes my whole growing season worth while.

It's fun when you have that "one guy" who keeps insisting he can eat anything. It's like he had a jalapeno on his sub, so he thinks he knows all about peppers. It's fun to "educate" him otherwise!

Ohiofem: Yah, it is part that and just the novelty of growing something unique. Anyone can grow a Bell Pepper and when you do, no one really seems to car. But grow a Ghost or Butch T, and people have a "guarded" interest. That is also why many grow ornamental peppers. They generally are not all that great table fare but it is just the fun of growing something a little different that can get out of a Burpee seed packet.

You are so right Peppernovice when you said people get into trouble at about this time! So true! I have a few seedlings up and just sitting there. Even for me, I want to just add a little fertilized water....when I KNOW they need some drying out yet:) I think that is why so many have damping off issues....they have to just do something.
