Chocolate habanero vs. Habanero Brown

I ordered Habanero Brown from Tomato Growers and then seen that Totally Tomatoes had Chocolate Habanero, so I ordered that as well. Does anyone know if these are the same pepper, but with different names? I don't have a lot of space to grow everything that I would like too as it is, I don't want to sow seeds from two different packs thinking that I am getting two different varieties and end up with one. Any information that you can give would be appreciated....Lisa

Yep, I think they're the same pepper. Chocolate Habs are very good but be careful. They're hotter than a regular hab. At least mine are. *smile*

They are not the same strain. I grew them both in 2005. The Brown Habanero is a larger pod and be4autiful and shiny. :) Both were very, very hot.

Thanks Smokemaster for the photos, those are some large beautiful peppers. Looking forward to planting them now more than ever, after taking a look at your peppers. Going to make pepper powder, I love pepper powder on grilled meat..Yum.

I grew these Habanero Browns from Tomato Growers Supply this year, and they are fantastic! Very, very hot, but with a very rich aromatics and flavors that made them some of my favorites! Big crop, and big peppers too. I'm thinking of digging up my plant and saving it over the winter.

Those who have grown both: how does the flavor compare to the more common Chocolate Habaneros?
