Cross Pollination possibly- Picture

Starting a new thread (screwed up original thread) on my jalapenos that may have been cross pollinated by chocolate habanero. I have saved seed each year starting 4 yrs ago. Current batch is mucho MUCHO hotter than previous yrs and they are quite tasty. I can get a nice burn without worrying if my tongue will get uprooted as in the case with a straight choc hab.

This past summer presented near perfect growing conditions so maybe this had something to do with extra spiciness. The pepper in the middle is representative in color of most of the peppers. The others picked up some dark color from choc habs or does anybody know if jalapenos do sometimes get darkened like that without cross pollination? I am hopeful that they continue to grow with same degree of heat for seasons to come.
