Looking nice!!

Nice, you're on your way to a great season!

You have a lot of dark coloring in your leaves. I wonder what is causing that. Most of mine have that this year as well. I am guessing it is the lighting. I am using 4' shop lights with 6500K bulbs.

Right now mine are under 6500k bulbs as well but show no signs of darkening (yet.)

Are yours the same size as beetles? My habanero plants are about that large or a little smaller, but haven't shown any signs of darkening like these. But I also keep my light around 3" away or so from them or a little further.

I keep mine 1-2" away. Here is a photo:

I wonder what is causing that.'......LOL, Bruce, this variety is an ornamental pepper that has wonderful little Hot blue fruit , that ripens to purple. The leaves are varigated with this color you see. It is one of my fav for both looks, and flavor :)

Oh, OK that makes sense. I was assuming they were regular varieties and didn't even consider they might be ornamentals with natural black/blue coloring.

I can't believe this..... but there are still a few seeds coming up! I have them under T5s, about one and a half inches away,. Maybe its the little bit of heat these bulbs throw off :) [initially, I put them on top of another set of lights] Most came up in about a week.
