| I am not much of a gardener but last year I planted some habeneros, they grew like WEEDs, I got BUCKETS of them it was unbelievable and they were so hot that amateur pepper eating tough guys couldn't stand them.
Now they grew fine but now I want some bhut jokokias, and I want them to be as hot as possible. I am thinking of getting this http://www.amazon.com/Hydrofarm-CK64050-Germination-Station-Heat/dp/B0 00HHO1RO and starting them indoors as it is only 65 degrees F in here however I need to get a light for them as that does not have one. Is that and a florescent light a good start or do you have a better cheap alternative? |

| I assume you are talking about something like this:
Work great, about $30.00 even, at the local nursery. Bhuts like 85-90 degrees, don't try and sprout wilds or some other varieties at that temp. |

| Thats exactly it, any suggestions as to a light? |

| Smokemaster, I'm lolling at your re-purposed trays that appropriately warn their contents are "HOT". Truth in advertising? :-p Thanks for posting pics of your setup. As a newbie, I'm always looking for ideas. And my mother happens to have two of those shelves sitting unused in her backyard... I think a burglar might head back there sometime soon. ;-) |

| Sbaker6, What Smokemaster said (especially) the 85F range for Bhuts. I started a 72 cell tray (one Bhut seed per cell) for farmer friends in mid December. By Jan 2nd I had an 89% germination rate, 64 out of 72 sprouts. FYI, if you're using a heat mat you may want to read a previous post on mats and temp output and etc. etc. etc. Link below. Bill |
