Aphids like to snack on new growth. Are there brown spots on the back of the leaves?

Sometimes crinkled leaves signal a calcium deficiency. there have been quite a few posts on this subject lately.

Thanks for the reply. It could be but I put a slow release fertilizer in the plants last week. I might have been a tad late fertilizing them and it just hasn't had time to absorb the nutrients yet?

On another post, someone mentioned that it could be the result of overwatering but I have only been watering a couple of times a week. Maybe I should cut it down to once a week.

Oh and I have been watching for aphids and they are clean of them along with other disease symptoms. They are pretty healthy looking overall other than the new growth.

I don't know. I water my in-ground Serrano a lot and has probably 100 pods on it.
My super hots are much more temperamental with waterings. I'm finding watering them less is better.

You might want to check your ferts. Not all of them contain calcium.

Could likely be a calcium deficiency. I had this happen but it went away without any help. I pulled the weird looking leafs off and that seemed to work as well.

So for calcium, has anybody heard of this or even tried it.
Should we all make a run to the dollar store.

I just added some plant food friday with added calcium in it so we will see how it turns out. I also have been saving my egg shells the past couple of days and storing them in a jar of water in my fridge to eventually pour over my plants for some added calcium.

I'll let you guys know what I find out in a few days if it takes that long.

Eggshells won't work to add calcium as described, Eao2012.

I use Cal-mag. Seems to work well.
