Nipping early buds ?

I have some pep seedlings that are presenting floral buds. I cannot put seedlings outside for at least 3 weeks if unprotected. Question here is whether I should sacrifice the early buds / flowers so as to possibly promote better plant growth at this stage.

Yes. Nipping the buds will or should make your plants grow taller and wider. That's not to say the plant will shut down upward growth if you leave the buds. I typically pinch the flowers till the plant is about a foot and a half tall .Then I let it do it's thing.

Yes, I have been snipping buds for a week or so now and my plants are only about 4-5" tall at best. Not all are budding yet but several are. I have a month or so before I can get them outside full time.

RE: Nipping early buds ?

I also have been nipping buds for a week or so. Like others have posted I nip them until the plant is at least a foot tall.

Nip it the bud (couldn't resist lol)
