Yes. Nipping the buds will or should make your plants grow taller and wider. That's not to say the plant will shut down upward growth if you leave the buds. I typically pinch the flowers till the plant is about a foot and a half tall .Then I let it do it's thing.

Yes, I have been snipping buds for a week or so now and my plants are only about 4-5" tall at best. Not all are budding yet but several are. I have a month or so before I can get them outside full time.

I also have been nipping buds for a week or so. Like others have posted I nip them until the plant is at least a foot tall.
