Cal/mag for peppers

Rio_Grande

Our peppers have been ok in the past. Would always like them to be better.

A good friend of ours mentioned that he puts a tablespoon of water soluable calcium and a tablespoon of water soluable epsome salts in the bottom of each one of his holes when transplanting starts. His plants always look healthy and produce well. We plant our beds in 200 foot rows and we put tomatoes and peppers both in the same rows. They are drip irrigated and we have the ability to inject or mix tanks for pumping out into the beds.

Can I archive similar results injecting the cal mag or do we need to follow his advice?
Is there a better way?
How much cal mag should we be putting out into the beds? Probably need a soil test to determine that.
