First year overwinteed bhut. Growing like a weed recently. I have been snipping blossoms for quite some time now. Any advice for myself would be appreciated a I'm a complete newbie!

I'd probably just let it go and if I end up with a fruit, decide then what to do. Also, how many fruit set would be a factor. 1 or 12?

Some prefer to snip the buds sooner than that.

It's pretty circumstantial. You'll most likely be fine either way...go with your gut.

I dont snip buds or blooms any longer. I will only snip pods if they develop. In fact, my Hot Hungarian Wax (second winter) has provided me with three or four rip pods over the winter and has three more immature pods on it right now. I probably won't let any more set from here on in though. My Twilight continues to bloom heavily but I don't think any have set so far. My Orange Tree Habanero has grown from 2.5 feet tall to almost well over 5 feet tall now and is just now starting to put out buds since the last time I trimmed it back in about December.

I wouldn't bother snipping buds unless they set.

Thanks for the info Bruce. You are always helpful. I tried the orange habanero tree with no luck germinating (tried 3 seeds only) and then it was much too late. Going to wait until next year. Thanks again, can't wait to see what I grow this year everything else is growing wonderfully!

Sorry to hear about the Orange Hab Tree. I found them relatively easy to germinate and grow. The original one that I am overwintering is now over 5' tall after I cut it back a couple times over the winter to 2.5'.
