Only one or two nights here this week where it gets cool enough for a frost warning. It's much too cool still for peppers. Though I'm going to shoot for the end of this month. If it's sooner that'll be nice too. But it's supposed to be almost into the 70's by the weekend, just hope it stays that way.

It needs to dry out so I can get my garden spot plowed where I'm going to place most of these peppers.

I am kicking mine out for good this upcoming weekend. Today's high was 77 and not a cloud in the sky. They all got about 4 hours of full sun today, so it is time. I just worry now about the rain, not the cold now.

We still have a foot of snow on the ground and more snow falling the next 3-4 days. Last year I was able to get them out the last weekend of April, this year it will most likely be the first or second weekend in May.

I still got 6 weeks give or take. My plants are still just babies! haha!

Gary - I see you are in zone 6, but you don't say where you live. I am in southern CT (zone 5B) and I don't put peppers in the ground until Memorial Day weekend. April 15 seems like you're rushing things a bit.

First link in google says march 20 average, but to wait until April 15... It must be true because its on the Internet.

Bells have been in the ground for a week. The rest of my annuums in a couple days. My superhots are still a ways off due to my blunders germinating.

John11840, thanks for your reply. I live in the St. Louis, Mo. area. I think that last frost date here is early May(I think the 5th). I live on fairly high ground, so I avoid some of those last frosts. I forgot to mention that this year, I will try black plastic w/irrigation underneath. 10-14 days of plastic warmth should help, I think. If bad weather should arrive, I will protect in some way.
