Jamie awesome pods, that Defcon 7 looks nasty! How is the heat from that thing? Do you know what it's a cross of? The Not Yaki Blue is quite a large pod to be pointing upright, does it drop later or stay that way? Seems if they did stay that way they would be sunburned because of their size and surface space. As always you post awesome pics! Keep em coming!

Geeez, seems like everyone is growing high heat this year.
Pretty cool to be getting ripe peppers this early in the season.

@ mark From what I have been told the Defcon 7 is actually a variant( not a cross ) of the 7 pod brown. It does have a burgandy red color . I was given the seeds from my friend Todd Warosh aka Tmudder. It is just as hot as a 7 pot brown . I only ate a small bit and was in some pain for a good 20 minutes. The yaki blue is supposed to be purple with pods growing downward. I have never had pods this large grow pendant . I was assuming the weight would cause them to eventually grown down but that has not been the case yet. Really cool plant . I actually have a pic of it with one pod growing up and one down ,

Now I have about 5 pods and all but one are pendant .

Thanks Josh,Bruce and Pam for stopping bye:)

Small harvest from the other day . Lots of Birgit Locotto's . If you have not grown this I recommend it. Amazing tasting Baccatum .

The plant . Medium heat like a cayenne only much juicier and thinner walls .

Romy6 your pics are awesome as usual. I like the Not Yaki Blue, really neat looking. I just got my birgits locoto in the ground last weekend, didnt know much about it as the seeds were given to me. After seeing your pic I'm glad I got it in.

I swear you Florida growers kill me every year. Just when I start to pat myself on the back for getting my seedlings outside, you go and post pics of ripe peppers! Geez!
Love the pics. I sweat just looking at that 7 pot Jonah. I had one try to kill me last year. I too would like to get in on the birgits locoto action. Let me know what I need to do to facilitate a trade.

I'll second peppernovice's comments. It was an especially rough winter/spring this year. Do the Birgit Locottos grow pretty slowly? Do you have plans for them other than taste testing?

    Thank you Stoni .

Thanks Chad you will love the Birgit's

Tim shoot me an email .

JT, The birgit's are an average growing pepper. In my humid environment it takes the baccatums a while to settle in unlike my chinense . I would say about 4 or 5 months from start to getting pods . The plants you see are about a year and 3 months old.

Romy - great looking (and obscure, in an awesome way) pods! I really enjoy the appearance of the Defcon pod.

...and you may have very well sold me on the B Loco as well :)
Right now my staple of amazing producer/flavor is the Fresno - it shall become the backbone of most of my sauces for the year.

Nice to see such nicely developed peppers this early in the growing season. Too bad we can't all live in zone 9.
Are you growing anything but heat this year? LOL

Great to see pods as this gives me incentive for my garden this year. Wish I could post pictures of these out in my garden, to show my peppers what they need to do!

That Bhut X Viper pod really has some neat color. The color almost looks translucent in the photo.

Once again, love your pics Romy.

I'm intrigued by that Bhut viper also. I know I probably don't grow anything you'd be interested in, but maybe save some seeds for me?

Wat's the last one? Chocolate Bhut?

Happy 4th and I agree.... Vets Rule!

    Very nice.

In your 11th pic, the one with multiple pods, the yellow pumpkin shaped ones look similar to a couple of Baccatum's i picked up from Aussie John, do you have a name for them? (i'm trying to figure out if i ended up with crosses) thank you in advance!

I'm seeing your post just fine. Once again, I get a tingle down below looking at your pics. My guess is you don't use a phone to take them? Either that, or I really suck with a camera phone. :)

Regarding the email... Doh! I told myself that I'd reply once I got something in the mail. 4th of July screwed me all up. Sorry. Got a SASBE in the mail on Tuesday. Looking forward to trying to grow some out. You're awesome!

    Thanks again!

Tim nice to hear from you . How is life in Tarheel Ville ?

Jigsaw was hot but not a scorcher which is normal for the green / mustard variety . Had a nice green jalapeno flavor .

    Great p3pp@r pr0n!

So Jigsaw nothing all that special? How many plants did you have? (I'm thinking that one plant could be atypical.)

    Dennis

P.S. Love the evergreen. It obviously has no intention of turning red - ever.

    Brown morugas

Cumari pollux a great wild for beginners easy to germinate , tolerates heat and humidity, and is an excellent tasting pepper.
