Start in bag and you know what is viable and what is not,no guessing or wondering

I start in seed trays. If they come up they do, if they don't they don't. Bag is too much effort. Pre soak the seeds, keep the temperature and moisture right and I've had just as much luck with germination in the soil and just as fast germination times.

Bag is just annoying if you don't get the seeds right as they crack open with the roots getting caught into the paper towels.

I started in sauce cups, then to solo cups... From solos straight to final containers.

I like the sauce containers with the lids because it keeps the moisture in, but the second they pop - you've got to get them to the cups.... Just requires a watchful eye is all.

I like the 72 cell tobacco trays. Easy to move around and stackable with a spacer until germination. Seedlings pop right out and go into cups or whatever. The styrofoam trays are more durable than the plastic ones, IMHO...

I started 9 varieties in bags and had success with all of them. I just threw one of the 72 starter pod domes on a heat mat and put all the bags in there and let them sit for a week or so. (Took the seed trays out of course.) Pretty easy if you ask me.
