Could be you have a mite infestation. I could be wrong, is that white web like?

Can't really say I think it looks web-like. At first I thought it was just house dust (the plant is inside for now), but then I realized it couldn't be rubbed off.

Has anyone got an idea what this is?

Not I, CJ. Might try posting in the Garden Clinic forum. I don't think it's PM though. I've had PM run rampant on my cucurbits; and my peppers right next to them don't get it at all.

What did you use to kill the aphids? The leaves and soil look dotted with white stuff. Could it be residue from the chemicals you've used? Can you wash that stuff off? It could be mealy bugs, but they are closely related to aphids and should be killed off by the same insecticides.

@Ohiofem I used a 3.5% pine soap solution. As far as I know, it should be safe.

Anyway, I have not been able to figure this one out, and it looks to be getting worse. The aphid war is too long ago for this to be any residue from the pine soap treatment.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated, Poblanos are my favorites, and this year's Poblano seedlings aren't doing too great, so I'm really hoping for this plant to make it. Even if you don't know what this is, I'm open to general purpose solutions that might be worth a shot.

For future reference: I am now pretty sure these were indeed spider mites. I sprayed the plant heavily with a solution of 1 teaspoon dish soap in 1 liter of water, being especially thorough with the underside of the leaves. I did this twice, three days apart, and the problem seems to have been resolved.

I never saw any mites on the plant. However, it spread to a couple of nearby plants, on those I could see small black specks underneath the leaves, which appeared to be spider mites. Luckily, it seems the spraying has been more successful then I could ever hope, and all the plants now look clean.

I have seen that in recent years on my tomato plants. It looks like someone sprinkled very fine salt or sugar on the leaves. I believe you have tomato psyllids. They like tomatoes, peppers and potato plants. I have fought them off successfully with Capt. Jack's Bug Brew (liquid spinosad).
