Old hot peppers

gnappi

Years ago (around 15) my Father in law gave me a sack of hot 3" long red peppers that were grown at the base of mount Vesuvius. They had an outstanding flavor and excellent heat.

I put some away and forgot about them and recently found them. A few years ago my Father in law passed on and I would like to try and grow these in memory of him.

So... my questions:

How long do seeds from peppers stay viable?
Is it possible to resurrect these seeds?
If so how?

Any help would be appreciated.
