They both appear ripe. I wait till all the green is gone + 2 days.

Well, they're rather orange and fat to be Datil....at least compared to the Datil that I grew for two years.

Stoney: While that type of thought may be true for some varieties, it's not true for all. For instance, Bhuts and Nagas will turn completely from green to an reddish orange before finally taking another month to get to final red.

I don't know, my bhut's and most other super hots usually turned a green, to the orangeish and then it was very quick after that they would finish turning the red... On topic though, the OP's picture- is it more or does that look more along what a habanero type pepper would look like? The datils I had looked more in line with Josh's photo.

Maybe we need something in the OP that gives a little more perspective. How big is the pot it's growing in? The plant doesn't look like a Habanero to me but, the fruit does.

Well, its just a "mini" I am growing. I am pretty sure its a Datil, its just stunted most likely because of pot size. I definitely don't think its a habanero... Just didn't want to throw the plant away but had no more space for a big pot. I am sure you can all relate lol.

I think it's too orange and Habanero shaped to be a datil.
